In Esoteric anatomy and Theosophical teachings, the Threefold Flame—often called the Unfed Flame—is the literal Divine Spark of the Absolute anchored within the physical human body. It is said to reside in the "Secret Chamber of the Heart," serving as the direct, unbroken cord of Light connecting the mortal personality to its Immortal Source (The I AM Presence). It is the Spiritual Epicenter of the human constitution.
The Trinity of the Soul: The flame consists of Three distinct plumes of Light, each representing a primary attribute of the Divine and corresponding to the Superior Triangle of the Holy Trinity. To achieve True Adeptship, these Three plumes must be perfectly balanced and expanded within the Individual.
The Blue Plume (Will and Power): Located on the left side, the blue Flame represents the First Ray. It embodies the Father principle—the Divine Will, Strength, Faith, and the Pure Spiritual Power required to drive the Great Work forward and protect the Soul from lower astral influences.
The Yellow Plume (Wisdom and Illumination): The central plume represents the Second Ray. It embodies the Son Principle (The Cosmic Christ or Buddhic Consciousness)—bringing Divine Illumination, Understanding, and the Active Intelligence necessary to rightly apply Spiritual Power.
The Pink Plume (Love and Compassion): Located on the right side, the pink Flame represents the Third Ray. It embodies the Holy Spirit—the Divine Love, Compassion, and the Cohesive, Nurturing Force of the Universe that harmonizes Will and Wisdom into Perfect Action.
The "Unfed" Nature: It is referred to as the "Unfed" Flame because it does not require physical oxygen or material fuel to burn. It is Sustained Entirely by the Boundless, Eternal Energy of the Cosmos, burning Continuously across incarnations as the imperishable core of the Individual's Spiritual identity.
