God is ALL in All
This is a Philosophical and Spiritual endeavor to extract, Harmonize, and synthesize the Universal Truths underlying the world's Diverse Religious, Mystical, and Philosophical traditions. Most famously associated with the concept of Perennial Philosophy, it posits that All Major Traditions share a single, transcendent metaphysical Source and Core Set of Truths.
"By the Power of Truth, I, while Living, have Conquered the Universe."
"I Am Nothing, yet I Am Everything."
This image represents the Rose Cross, specifically the version used by the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn, a dense synthesis of Western Esoteric thought, combining Kabbalah, Alchemy, and Hermeticism into a single "map" of the Universe and the human Soul.
The "Living Principles" within these forms represent the interaction between the Macrocosm (the Divine/Universe) and the Microcosm (the Individual).
At the center sits a rose with 22 petals, corresponding to the 22 letters of the Hebrew alphabet and the 22 paths on the Kabbalistic Tree of Life.
The Three Inner Petals: Represent the three "Mother Letters" (Aleph, Mem, Shin), which symbolize the primary elements of Air, Water, and Fire.
The Seven Middle Petals: Represent the seven "Double Letters," corresponding to the seven ancient planets and the various dualities of human existence (life/death, wealth/poverty, etc.).
The Twelve Outer Petals: Represent the twelve "Single Letters," corresponding to the signs of the Zodiac.
The Living Principle: This represents the evolution of Consciousness. Just as a rose unfolds, the Soul gradually reveals its Divine nature by Masterfully integrating the planetary and zodiacal forces.
The cross represents the physical world and the stabilization of Spirit within matter.
The Four Arms: These represent the four classical elements—Fire (Red/South), Water (Blue/West), Air (Yellow/East), and Earth (Citrine, Olive, Russet, and Black/North).
The Pentagrams: On each arm, a Pentagram represents the Spirit (the fifth element) governing over the four material elements.
The Living Principle: This represents Equilibrium. It is the concept that the Spiritual Seeker must balance their elemental nature - their passions, emotions, thoughts, and physical health - to provide a stable foundation for the "Rose" of the Soul to bloom.
Below the Rose is a Hexagram (Shield of David), which represents the Macrocosm and the Seven Planetary Forces centered around the Sun (Tiphareth).
The Living Principle: This represents Correspondence (the Hermetic "As Above, So Below"). The Center of the Cross is where the human and the Divine intersect. It suggests that the same Laws governing the stars are active within your own heart.
The letters I.N.R.I. around the central rose represent the Latin Igne Natura Renovatur Integra (by Fire, nature is restored whole), but they also correspond to the Egyptian signs of L.V.X. - L (Isis Mourning), V (Apophis/Typhon), X (Osiris Risen).
The Living Principle: This represents Transformation through Sacrifice and Rebirth. It is the perpetual cycle of Creation, destruction, and resurrection - the idea that the ego must "die" for the Higher Self to be born.
