God is ALL in All

This is a Philosophical and Spiritual endeavor to extract, Harmonize, and synthesize the Universal Truths underlying the world's Diverse Religious, Mystical, and Philosophical traditions. Most famously associated with the concept of Perennial Philosophy, it posits that All Major Traditions share a single, transcendent metaphysical Source and Core Set of Truths.

"By the Power of Truth, I, while Living, have Conquered the Universe."

"I Am Nothing, yet I Am Everything."

Genesis Chapter Sixteen

1 Now Sarai Abram's wife bare him no children: and she had an handmaid, an Egyptian, whose name was Hagar.

2 And Sarai said unto Abram, Behold now, the Lord hath restrained me from bearing: I pray thee, go in unto my maid; it may be that I may obtain children by her. And Abram hearkened to the voice of Sarai.

3 And Sarai Abram's wife took Hagar her maid the Egyptian, after Abram had dwelt ten years in the land of Canaan, and gave her to her husband Abram to be his wife.

4 And he went in unto Hagar, and she conceived: and when she saw that she had conceived, her mistress was despised in her eyes.

5 And Sarai said unto Abram, My wrong be upon thee: I have given my maid into thy bosom; and when she saw that she had conceived, I was despised in her eyes: the Lord judge between me and thee.

6 But Abram said unto Sarai, Behold, thy maid is in thine hand; do to her as it pleaseth thee. And when Sarai dealt hardly with her, she fled from her face.

7 And the angel of the Lord found her by a fountain of water in the wilderness, by the fountain in the way to Shur.

8 And he said, Hagar, Sarai's maid, whence camest thou? and whither wilt thou go? And she said, I flee from the face of my mistress Sarai.

9 And the angel of the Lord said unto her, Return to thy mistress, and submit thyself under her hands.

10 And the angel of the Lord said unto her, I will multiply thy seed exceedingly, that it shall not be numbered for multitude.

11 And the angel of the Lord said unto her, Behold, thou art with child and shalt bear a son, and shalt call his name Ishmael; because the Lord hath heard thy affliction.

12 And he will be a wild man; his hand will be against every man, and every man's hand against him; and he shall dwell in the presence of all his brethren.

13 And she called the name of the Lord that spake unto her, Thou God seest me: for she said, Have I also here looked after him that seeth me?

14 Wherefore the well was called Beerlahairoi; behold, it is between Kadesh and Bered.

15 And Hagar bare Abram a son: and Abram called his son's name, which Hagar bare, Ishmael.

16 And Abram was fourscore and six years old, when Hagar bare Ishmael to Abram.

Esoteric Interpretation & Commentary

The Hermetic Blueprint of Genesis: The Egyptian Handmaid and the Premature Creation

"Genesis Chapter Sixteen illustrates a common trap for the Advancing Spiritual Seeker: the impatience of the Will. The promised Spiritual Expansion (the heir) has not yet manifested, and in a moment of doubt, the Higher Faculties attempt to Force the Divine plan using the lower, material nature. In Esoteric Alchemy, Sarai represents the Pure Spiritual Soul (the Higher feminine/receptive principle), while Hagar, the Egyptian handmaid, represents the dense, earthly, and generative matrix of the physical body. The birth of Ishmael is the result of trying to achieve a Spiritual goal through purely material mechanics—producing an Unrefined Creation that, while Powerful, cannot inherit the Ultimate Promise of the Great Work."

Verses 1-3: The Impatience of the Soul and the Material Matrix - "Now Sarai Abram's wife bare him no children: and she had an handmaid, an Egyptian, whose name was Hagar."

The Alchemical Process cannot be rushed; it operates strictly on the Hermetic Principle of Rhythm. However, Sarai (the Higher Soul) feels "barren" because the Spiritual manifestation promised by the Infinite Mind has not yet materialized on the physical plane. Out of impatience, Sarai instructs Abram (the Awakened Will) to go into Hagar. Because Hagar is Egyptian, she inherently symbolizes the dense, sensory-driven physical vehicle. The Spiritual Will is essentially abandoning the High, Patient Vibration of the Pure Soul to use the lower, mechanical forces of the physical body to force a result.

Verses 4-6: The Rebellion of the Lower Nature - "And he went in unto Hagar, and she conceived: and when she saw that she had conceived, her mistress was despised in her eyes."

This reveals a Profound Psychological Law. The moment the lower material nature (Hagar) is empowered with the generative Force of the Spiritual Will (Abram) and successfully Creates something, the ego instantly becomes inflated. The physical vehicle begins to believe it is Superior to the Higher Spiritual Soul (Sarai) and despises it. When Sarai complains to Abram, he immediately hands the authority back to her, saying, "Thy maid is in thy hand; do to her as it pleaseth thee." This is the Adept quickly correcting the Internal Hierarchy: the physical body must always remain subjugated and disciplined by the Higher Spiritual Faculties. When Sarai deals "hardly" with Hagar, it represents the Strict, Unyielding Discipline required to put the rebellious ego back in its place.

Verses 7-14: The Flight of Hagar and the Angel at the Well - "And the angel of the Lord found her by a fountain of water in the wilderness..."

Unable to handle the Strict Discipline of the Higher Soul, the physical nature (Hagar) attempts to flee into the wilderness (a state of chaotic, undirected material existence). But the Angel of the Lord finds her by a well of water (Solutio/Truth) and commands her to return and submit to Sarai. Esoterically, this teaches that the Adept cannot simply abandon or destroy their physical body and lower nature. The "Egyptian handmaid" is entirely necessary for the Great Work, but she must be brought into Perfect, Subservient alignment with the Higher Consciousness.

Verses 15-16: The Birth of the Wild Man - "And Hagar bare Abram a son... and Abram called his son's name, which Hagar bare, Ishmael."

Ishmael is born, but the Angel previously prophesied that he would be a "wild man; his hand will be against every man, and every man's hand against him." Ishmael represents the Premature, Unrefined Spiritual Creation. When a Seeker attempts to Force Enlightenment using lower Psychic or material practices (rather than waiting for the Pure distillation of the Spirit), they create a "wild" and chaotic Internal Energy. Ishmael is Powerful and will become a great nation, but he is fundamentally anchored in the friction and dualities of the physical plane. He is not the True, Perfected Alchemical Gold—he is the precursor, the necessary misstep before the True Heir can be born.
