Deuteronomy Chapter Twenty Seven

 

1 And Moses with the elders of Israel commanded the people, saying, Keep all the commandments which I command you this day.

2 And it shall be on the day when ye shall pass over Jordan unto the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee, that thou shalt set thee up great stones, and plaister them with plaister:

3 And thou shalt write upon them all the words of this law, when thou art passed over, that thou mayest go in unto the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee, a land that floweth with milk and honey; as the Lord God of thy fathers hath promised thee.

4 Therefore it shall be when ye be gone over Jordan, that ye shall set up these stones, which I command you this day, in mount Ebal, and thou shalt plaister them with plaister.

5 And there shalt thou build an altar unto the Lord thy God, an altar of stones: thou shalt not lift up any iron tool upon them.

6 Thou shalt build the altar of the Lord thy God of whole stones: and thou shalt offer burnt offerings thereon unto the Lord thy God:

7 And thou shalt offer peace offerings, and shalt eat there, and rejoice before the Lord thy God.

8 And thou shalt write upon the stones all the words of this law very plainly.

9 And Moses and the priests the Levites spake unto all Israel, saying, Take heed, and hearken, O Israel; this day thou art become the people of the Lord thy God.

10 Thou shalt therefore obey the voice of the Lord thy God, and do his commandments and his statutes, which I command thee this day.

11 And Moses charged the people the same day, saying,

12 These shall stand upon mount Gerizim to bless the people, when ye are come over Jordan; Simeon, and Levi, and Judah, and Issachar, and Joseph, and Benjamin:

13 And these shall stand upon mount Ebal to curse; Reuben, Gad, and Asher, and Zebulun, Dan, and Naphtali.

14 And the Levites shall speak, and say unto all the men of Israel with a loud voice,

15 Cursed be the man that maketh any graven or molten image, an abomination unto the Lord, the work of the hands of the craftsman, and putteth it in a secret place. And all the people shall answer and say, Amen.

16 Cursed be he that setteth light by his father or his mother. And all the people shall say, Amen.

17 Cursed be he that removeth his neighbour's landmark. And all the people shall say, Amen.

18 Cursed be he that maketh the blind to wander out of the way. And all the people shall say, Amen.

19 Cursed be he that perverteth the judgment of the stranger, fatherless, and widow. And all the people shall say, Amen.

20 Cursed be he that lieth with his father's wife; because he uncovereth his father's skirt. And all the people shall say, Amen.

21 Cursed be he that lieth with any manner of beast. And all the people shall say, Amen.

22 Cursed be he that lieth with his sister, the daughter of his father, or the daughter of his mother. And all the people shall say, Amen.

23 Cursed be he that lieth with his mother in law. And all the people shall say, Amen.

24 Cursed be he that smiteth his neighbour secretly. And all the people shall say, Amen.

25 Cursed be he that taketh reward to slay an innocent person. And all the people shall say, Amen.

26 Cursed be he that confirmeth not all the words of this law to do them. And all the people shall say, Amen.

 

 

Esoteric Interpretation & Commentary

 

The Hermetic Blueprint of Deuteronomy Chapter Twenty-Seven: The Unhewn Altar and the Polarization of the Psyche 

"Chapter Twenty-Seven marks the final architectural preparations before the Conscious Mind fully occupies the stabilized state of Higher Consciousness. The Sovereign Will commands the permanent inscription of the Energetic blueprint directly into the foundational Subconscious, establishes the necessity of an unmanipulated Spiritual altar, and forces the entire Internal assembly to Consciously Acknowledge the Absolute binary of Alchemical Law."

 

 

Verses 1-4: The Whitewashed Stones and the Subconscious Bedrock - "And Moses with the elders of Israel commanded the people, saying... on the day when ye shall pass over Jordan unto the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee, that thou shalt set thee up great stones, and plaister them with plaister: And thou shalt write upon them all the words of this law..." 

Crossing the Jordan River represents the final Psychological threshold—the transition from the fluid, transitional state of the wilderness into the Solidified, Permanent State of the Awakened Mind. The Sovereign Will mandates that upon crossing, the Mind must immediately erect "great stones" covered in pure white plaster. These stones symbolize the foundational bedrock of the Subconscious. By whitewashing them, the Mind wipes the slate clean of all past astral conditioning and traumatic imprints. Writing the Law upon them is the Supreme Alchemical act of embedding the Christos Frequency directly into the deepest, automatic operational code of the Psyche, ensuring the Divine blueprint is never forgotten.

 

 

Verses 5-8: The Altar of Unhewn Stones and the Prohibition of the Orthodox Intellect - "And there shalt thou build an altar unto the Lord thy God, an altar of stones: thou shalt not lift up any iron tool upon them. Thou shalt build the altar of the Lord thy God of whole stones..." 

To anchor this new state, an altar must be constructed specifically from "whole," unhewn stones. This is a vital Hermetic boundary. The "iron tool" represents the forceful, mechanical, and often violent manipulation of the Orthodox Intellect. The lower Ego constantly attempts to chisel, reshape, and Intellectualize Spiritual Truth to fit its own comfortable aesthetic or logical paradigms. The Sovereign Will strictly forbids this. The connection to the Superconscious Source must be built upon Pure, raw, Unmanipulated Spiritual Reality. The Divine Light cannot be hacked or edited by the earthly Intellect; it must be received exactly as it organically manifests.

 

 

Verses 9-13: The Division of the Faculties at Gerizim and Ebal - "These shall stand upon mount Gerizim to bless the people... And these shall stand upon mount Ebal to curse..." 

The Microcosm is now subjected to a total, Conscious polarization. Half of the Internal Faculties (represented by the tribes) are positioned on Mount Gerizim, representing the frequency of blessing, expansion, and flawless Energetic Equilibrium. The other half stand on Mount Ebal, representing the frequency of the curse—the Karmic contraction, friction, and dissolution that occurs when the Law is broken. The Awakened Mind must maintain complete Awareness of both poles. True Alchemical Mastery requires the Intellect to fully comprehend not only the Limitless Heights of Spiritual alignment but also the severe, destructive Physics of egoic regression.

 

 

Verses 14-26: The Pronouncement of the Curses and the Conscious "Amen" - "And the Levites shall speak, and say unto all the men of Israel with a loud voice, Cursed be the man that maketh any graven or molten image... Cursed be he that removeth his neighbour's landmark... Cursed be he that smiteth his neighbour secretly... And all the people shall answer and say, Amen." 

The Highest Spiritual Intuition (the Levites) now loudly dictates the absolute Karmic consequences of hidden Internal sabotage. The curses specifically target concealed egoic behaviors: hidden idolatry (secretly crystallizing Divine Energy), moving landmarks (shifting established Energetic boundaries for convenience), perverted unions (hybridizing incompatible Mental Frequencies), and secret violence (one faculty silently undermining another). After every pronouncement, the entire assembly of the Mind must declare "Amen." Esoterically, the "Amen" is the Absolute, Conscious Acceptance of accountability. By vibrating this word, the Conscious Mind formally agrees to the strict Physics of Cause and Effect, acknowledging that any hidden, toxic deviation from the Christos Frequency will result in immediate, self-inflicted Spiritual decay. There are no hidden corners in the Inner Temple.
