Belief, Faith, and Knowingness

 

The Limitation of Exoteric Belief

 

In the traditional, outward understanding of religion, faith is almost entirely conflated with belief. However, from an esoteric standpoint, religion frequently degrades into a mere matter of belief, acting as a severe limitation on the human mind and ensuring it is never truly free. When a seeker separates themselves through dogmatic belief, nationality, or tradition, it inevitably breeds division and violence. Anger is frequently the root of a faulty belief system. This creates a psychological trap—often referred to as the Dunning-Kruger effect—where people become so overly confident in their newly discovered religious beliefs that they turn fanatical, entirely unable or unwilling to genuinely consider any perspective other than their own. This religious exclusivism dictates that only one particular system can be true, locking the mind in a rigid cage. The unconscious belief system is held stubbornly in place precisely because the individual refuses to examine it critically. To achieve True Spiritual Liberation, the initiate must focus on resolving their own Inner Conflicting Beliefs, rather than wasting time and energy focusing on the beliefs of others.

 

 

The Emancipation of Conscious Faith

 

True Faith, esoterically understood, is profoundly different from blind belief. The alchemist Paracelsus noted that belief in opinions is not Faith, and that a fool who believes unreasonable things is dead in Faith because they lack Knowledge. True Faith must grow out of Spiritual Knowledge, taking its root deep within the Heart. Therefore, the one who has True Faith does not even need to "believe". As G.I. Gurdjieff expressed, Conscious Faith is Freedom, Emotional Faith is slavery, and Mechanical Faith is sheer foolishness. Faith is a deep, Inner Knowingness that the Divine Love within is the True Hope of Glory. It is an Absolute Trust and a profound Sense of Connectedness with the Infinite Unmanifest. When the adept operates from this space, their Faith in a Higher Internal Power provides the exact courage needed to overcome any obstacle in the human experience. This level of Faith requires Total Fearlessness, as it is rooted in the Absolute Protection, Justice, Wisdom, and Omnipresence of the Divine.

 

 

The Pinnacle of Absolute Knowingness

 

The Ultimate Goal of the Great Work is the alchemical transition from Faith into Pure, Unadulterated Knowingness. The True Seeker of Knowledge does not accept anything merely on belief, but actively Seeks out facts to develop a complete, Spherical Understanding. Absolute Knowing is the architect and Creator of the initiate's Internal Kingdom. By simply declaring "I know" with Absolute certainty, the adept opens the door of Knowingness, Creating a space for True Genius and greater Thoughts to manifest in Creative form. This is the Realization of the Strait Gate and the Narrow Way, which esoterically translates directly to the Inner Knowingness of God the Father that leads unto Life. When the individual finally Knows they are an Emanation of God, that unshakeable feeling of certainty automatically generates the experiences necessary to prove that Knowingness as an Experiential Truth. To reach this Exalted State, the adept must systematically remove every limiting law, dogmatic belief, and ritualistic practice from their being, allowing their Thought Processes to become Entirely Unlimited.

 

Faith is Absolute Trust, a deep sense of Connectedness with the Infinite Unmanifest resulting in Pure, Unadulterated Knowingness.
